“Lords of Dirt” continued
Written by: Colin Mackay
Whats happening guys?
This past week I got to travel to the South-West of France with Nasty for a “Lords of Dirt” contest.
The jumps were already built and 100% ready when we arrived so this made us real pumped knowing we didn’t have to ride them in like usual. It was 3 sets down, a curved wall ride into some rollers then 4 sets back.
Nasty got taken out in practice and hit his head pretty good, he also did something to his hand. It swelled up and he tried to ride finals, but it was too painful and he had to sit out and watch. He got to meet a bunch of fans and do some interview’s for the french magazines and was even asked to come up too the awards stage were he was cheered on by the crowd. It was great to see Nasty get the respect he deserves.
I made it through qualifying and into the finals, and I was pumped on my riding, 3 runs in the bag, no messed up runs. I was having a good time for sure. I ended up getting 5th place which I was more than happy with considering what the other riders were doing in the finals.
From here I am off to Road Fools next week as “Team Manager” for the Premium Team, I’m looking forward to hitting the streets with the boys and trying to clock some clips. The trip starts in San Francisco and finishes in Utah.
One last thing I have to report is that I received a call yesterday for a wild card spot for Dirt at the Salt Lake Dew stop so Im pretty pumped to get back on the Dew scene, that contest is just a few weeks away, I broke my wrist at that one last year so lets hope I can pull it this year!
Take it easy, Mackay
